Following the success of the stunning 100 Queen’s Gate Hotel project in South Kensington in 2020, the client, Crimson Hotels, appointed DLSM Studio (formerly DesignLSM) to undertake the revitalisation of DoubleTree Victoria London Hotel’s public areas and dining facilities.
The refurbishment sees a seamless enhancement of the flow and connectivity between the bar, lounge and reception areas, breathing new life into the hotel’s spaces with a joyfully infused interior design.
Inspiration
Drawing inspiration from the vibrant Victoria district which is undergoing a multi-billion pound regeneration project, our approach is characterised by architectural ingenuity and contemporary aesthetics, designed to blend seamlessly with the historical landmarks along with new cutting edge commercial spaces in the area.
The concept endeavours to curate a space that is rejuvenating after a long journey or busy day sightseeing - a place that evokes a sense of modern innovation and approachable luxury, with comfort at its core.
The Detail
A defining hallmark of the project lies in its meticulous attention to detail. The reception and lift lobby feature a bespoke timber wall detail and striking metal accents that echo the hotel's urban surroundings. The bar area has become the hotel’s focal point, boasting a central bar display, a tiled wall that fuses modernity with sophistication, and bar stools featuring distinctive metal details. The choice of materials prioritise durability, aligning with the high traffic these spaces experience.
But beyond the aesthetic, DLSM Studio’s core focus is the guest experience. The refurbished spaces are thoughtfully designed to cater to diverse moments of interaction, from breakfast gatherings to late night drinks. The design fluidity ensures smooth transitions, inviting guests to journey seamlessly from the immersive restaurant atmosphere to the vibrant bar ambiance.
